Parallels last played Public Assembly on a crazy double bill featuring Miho Hatori, FIXED’s JDH, Todd Penu, People at Parties, You! and more. It ruled, they ruled, so we’ve invited them back to headline this equally killer night. Their dreaming psy-pop-syth jams nod to the 80s - a little Moroder, some New Order and a bit of Stevie Nicks; and their live show is on point. The band currently consisting of Holly Dodson, Nick Dodson, & Artem Galperine.
Win Win was born when XXXchange (founding SPANK ROCK member / producer) reached out to lifelong friend, Devlin (of Devlin & Darko DJ fame), to help him start work on a new project. They brought on Ghostdad, a video wizard they met on the DJ circuit in the northeast and once the three got together, elements and influences started to mesh into something special. Their composition process is complex and multifaceted, a fascinating coalescence of various technologies! Science! For their first effort on Vice, vocal contributions came from heavyweights such as Alexis Taylor (Hot Chip), Lizzie Bougatsos (Gang Gang Dance), and Andrew W.K, to name a few. Shit is hot!
Matt Thornley was in a band called LCD Soundsystem, is in a band called The Crystal Ark, manages the studio for DFA, and is one of NYC’s best all around disco & dance DJs. Underappreciated on the local DJ scene (why isn’t he headlining Webster main room?), he’s a fucking sweatheart who has introduced us to many of our favorite edits, brought to light lost gems, and has an ear for the best of the best.
