Denzil Porter, formerly known as “Young Flame”, grew up in the northeast Bronx, NY. Porter had a passion for Hip-Hop music from a young age. In high school Denzil Porter began freestyling and battling, defeating competitors left and right. In 2004 Denzil Porter founded WreckHouse Entertainment, which produces music out of his in-house studio and hosts parties and events. In 2008, Denzil Porter released his first mixtape “On my way home” which was sold out in its first week. In 2010 he released his second mixtape “Live from the other side” which was sold in sneaker stores, local record stores & was available for free download online. “Live from the other side” introduced the fans to another side of Denzil Porter. With its lyrical, eccentric, and energetic feel, the listener would become drowned into the realm of metaphorical hip hop. In December 2010, Denzil Porter released “Intuition”. A story of a couple that followed there intuition instead of communication and with its surprise ending it caught the attention of many internet listeners & bloggers. The video was release in honor of national aids month, and went up to 30,000 views in approximately 3 weeks. “Intuition” was the rocket that boosted him into the underground scene. Since then he has released 3 more visuals for his new project, which were also featured on some of the biggest hip hop blog sites like Nahright.com, rapradar.com, 2dopeboys.com & more. With the increase of his fan base growing so rapidly it caught attention of an entertainment company in Toronto Canada which landed Denzil Porter with his first international show, opening up for Kendrick lamar in Toronto. Since then, his fan base in that region has grown as well and he has been featured on some of Canada’s most known hip hop sites such as hustlegrl.com, freshmfk.com & goodiebag.com. Currently working on his new project, “No Relation” Denzil Porter is definitely a breath of fresh air for New York City. He is the void that has been missing from his town for years.
