Hatchet Job is a monthly reading series in which poets of all persuasions leave their snuss at the door and read in a black room with alcohol. Bread? It costs none. Can't say the same for the hooch.

Linda Besner is the author of The Id Kid. Her poetry and non-fiction have appeared in The Walrus, The Malahat Review, Grain, Maisonneuve, and Canadian Notes and Queries, among others. She lives in Toronto.

Melissa Broder is the author of two poetry collections, Meat Heart and When You Say One Thing But Mean Your Mother . She edits La Petite Zine.

Paul Legault is the author of The Madeleine Poems, The Other Poems, and The Emily Dickinson Reader. He is the co-founder of the translation press Telephone Books.

Monica Ferrell is the author of Beasts for the Chase and a novel, The Answer is Always Yes. She is a recipient of the Discovery award and Stegner awards and is fast at work on a second book of poems.
