Scion AV’s Open Mic series returns for 2013 with a showcase featuring Trinidad James, Hot Sugar & friends, and Antwon. If you’re not familiar with the talent, get acquainted. Trinidad James is an Atlanta space case coming on strong off the song “All Gold Everything” and his Don’t be S.A.F.E. mixtape. Future-visioned New York producer Hot Sugar recently released the Midi Murder EP on Scion AV, featuring appearances by rappers including Heems, Big Baby Gandhi and Haleek Maul. Antwon is a rapper from San Jose who completely on his own trip.

The only way to attend the event is to participate in a contest on Twitter or on Instagram. Here are the rules:

On Twitter the contest runs from January 4 to January 18, 2013. To enter, users must write a tweet that mentions “@ScionAV” and includes the hashtag “#ScionOpenMic”. There is a limit of 1 entry per person. A total of 250 winners will be selected from Twitter to attend the event.

On Instagram the contest runs from January 4 to January 18, 2013. To enter, users have to repost the sweepstakes photo posted on the @ScionAV Instagram account, and include a mention of “@ScionAV” and the hashtag “#ScionOpenMic” in the caption. @ScionAV will be posting the image at 10am (PT Standard Time) on January 4 and a few other times during the contest period. There’s a limit of 1 entry per person. A total of 250 winners will be selected from Instagram to attend the event.
