Silver Apples

Between ‘67 / ‘69 Apples were one of the first to employ electronic music techniques extensively within a rock idiom. Their minimalistic style, with a pulsing, driving beat and frequently discordant modality, anticipated not only the experimental electronic music and krautrock of the 1970s, but also underground dance music and indie rock of the 1990s.

MNDR

“New York electro-pop duo Amanda Warner and Peter Wade mix warm synth beats with a soaring chorus that sounds like what birds must be thinking. The fantastically bespectacled Warner manages the impossible: Gearheads and hipsters swoon.” 4 of 5 Stars, Rolling Stone

Lemonade

“...muscular, aggressive approach to dance music...from a similar base as other percussive post-punk new-schoolers, from party-starting outfits like !!! and Professor Murder to more abrasive acts like Aa and Liars. But the trio strike a singular balance between weird and wired... imagine Metal Box-era John Lydon bellowing out Sigur Rós' Hopelandic lyric sheet-- but layers it with Arabic-accented melodies, machine-gunned synths and a pounding 4/4 beat that would go over both in Williamsburg warehouse parties and Dubai super clubs. - Stuart Berman, Pitchfork

Ital

“You may already know Daniel Martin-McCormick from his work as one half of Thrill Jockey duo Mi Ami, or his solo endeavors as Sex Worker. Lately though, he’s been releasing some of the most vital-sounding house music around, under the name Ital...a sunblind epic of rough percussion, luscious chords and elements that work against each other as effectively as they work with each other. “ - FACT.
