POP* is outré, big-tent, mind blowing, jaw dropping, burlesque. It’s modern re-imagining of the traditional vaudeville show with break dancers, cabaret singers, comedians, musicians, variety acts, and of course, stripteasers with a post-modernist axe to bump and grind.
Named for curator and Burlesque artist The Incredible, Edible, Akynos' unique ability to “pop off “ pasties during her act regardless of the application of industrial strength spirit gum, *POP* is a high energy evening of sexy crowd pleasing acts. With a revolving cast creating work on a monthly theme, each show is hot and fresh--and we mean hot!
Enjoy *POP* on the third Monday of every month at the Public Assembly. The inaugural show is Feburary 15th, 2010, just in time to keep your Valentine’s Day rolling with a theme of love, sex, and magic. Night begins with a live band to warm up the crowd for a steamy evening that goes on until every single member of the audience has been titillated. *POP* is burlesque.
